| The best damn thing about the celtic series on Thursday nights is that sometimes it's not celtic. The next best thing is that maybe someone decides to play celtic with a saxophone. This trio of Canadians hadn't ever toured together before. Ian is a writer of great, funny country songs. Paul Buchanan writes pop tunes and light piano jazz. Anna Ludlow is, yes, a celtic fiddler. They had to adapt to each other's stuff. |
Amish WatchThe amish have built a giant store. Kind of looks like Cracker Barrell except it's all plain wood.
It's mostly a hardware store which we really don't need another one of in town. These three girls watched me as I tried to call Melissa to ask if we needed more strawberries. Metal roofs and cell phones are not a match. I asked them if they studied science in school. I told them the roof was a Farraday shield and they should ask about that in class. Duh, they don't have anything with radio waves. Everyone seems very approving of the amish, but those dresses and caps for women bother me.
