Melissa took this photo when a fog was making snow crystals on things. The fog lasted only about 30 minutes.

Maira Kalman blogs with paintings. What a sweet voice she has.

The February Mix has a Booker trilogy, sparked by the Milton song ("one-named guitarist's song about a one-eyed piano player") being the NPR song of the day. In the blog comments to that article, people recommended their own favorite Booker tributes. Someone mentioned the Harry Connick, Jr song. I mentioned something from the May 2006 mix, the tune James Booker by Los Hombres Calientes, an Irvin Mayfield project. Harry Connick senior was the district attorney in New Orleans and he got Booker to tutor his son. Quite the tragic artist figure.
