As we were driving out of Acadia yesterday, this schooner was sailing in the harbor, looking ghostly in the slight haze. We were returning from Melissa's birthday lunch at Jordan Pond House. Popovers, yes. Julia is going off to Smith in a couple of weeks. We had to report on our impressions of Northampton and the campus. Before lunch we met Marge and Miff at Thuya Garden in Northeast Harbor. The temperature drops about 5 degrees when you drive up the densely shades road leading to it.
We are having a week of solidly hot sunny weather; humans and dogs take frequent dips in the lake to cool down. As it should be.
