Between the community center where pumpkins were ready to be carved and the house by Triplet Park where our weatherization team (one of many) was working, there was a nice patch of milkweed.

This is the last pre-election post. I allow myself lots of time to obssess on polls and generally wallow in the anticipation of a big win. We have already voted, just in case we're delayed getting back from Louisiana, and we will both be vote counters on the night of the election. There's wireless at the Community Center; I'll bring my little computer to watch the returns or people can text me with updates.

There's been just an explosion of video, music, poster art, and blogging related to this election. A lot of that has to do with the nature of the Obama candidacy. But it's more than that. If we've never seen anything like it before, it's also because there was never an infrastructure for creativity that could deliver it to us. Youtube has only been around since 2005. Now embedded video is everywhere. And anyone can play. and write. and mix. One of the best Obama music videos yet comes from an Opelousas dancehall with some well-known Cajun musicians.

Here's the October mix.
