Here are our new pups, the Bad Sisters, Scout and Wing. They were small; we took two. Two is easier than one, really. They are a lab mix, some border collie in there. The mother dog is an impressive frisbee mom type. That's the canine equivalent of a soccer mom. She could keep an eye on her eleven pups while getting you to throw things for her to fetch. If they made little blue minivans for dogs, she'd be driving one. They are nine weeks old and we're enjoying them. Wing is going to be a big square lab whose chief interest is food. She'll be The Enforcer.
She has a white spot on her chin giving her a perpetual Got Milk? expression. Scout sleeps alertly like a watchdog, watches TV, and can track an airplane in the sky. They aren't big enough for collars yet, but these harness things are good. You can pick them up like a six pack and remove them from the garden where you're trying to plant garlic. We're having a good time accessorizing them. Bean's sells a leash ($15 at the outlet store) with a lifetime guarantee even if chewed. It's hard to get pictures of black dogs. There's not enough contrast within their body space.
The fall colors are just about gone now. I used a disposable panoramic to get some wide swatches of color.
