This is me going and coming. We had two big storms recently. The first dropped 14 inches of snow on us, the second gave us 18 inches and a day off. It's wonderful to call the snow line at work and hear the good news. I don't remember the exact wording but it's something like this: You are a fabulous person; the roads are a bit much today; why don't you just kick back into bed, read a cheap novel, then fritter away the day at home.
Then you start shoveling, making your best guess about where the sidewalk might be. The last storm left fairly wet snow, that clung to things and piled higher on railings than usual.

But spring will get here and JazzFest is only a month away. Thursday the 29th looks like a great lineup: Little Feat, Taj Mahal, Chris Smither, Los Lobos, Sonny Landreth... You can check the schedule for more info.
We'll be down there April 22 - May 4. Plottin and plannin way ahead of time is half the fun. I've put up an interactive Festin calendar and anyone can put events, reminders, hot tips, time of day for meeting at the flagpole, etc. on it. It would be great if the other returning exmatriates would put the time when they will be in N.O. Clicking on the finger pointers will move you to the next month; click on the day number to enter items.
