Miss Em ponders the question: can a girl ever have too many beads? And yet another shot of the Mardi Gras festivities. Let's face it, life's kind of quiet in Central Maine in late winter. We know there was a party in N.O. yesterday: the annual Maria Rubio Miracle Extravaganza. I'm thinking Barb Johnson and I need to collaborate in giving the miracles their own website. Just think what we could do with the Radio Stations of the Cross. Been to Maria Rubio? What's your favorite miracle?

Like I needed more work, Melissa has gotten me roped into redoing the world's ugliest and least functional website, that of the Waldo County Chamber of Commerce. Well for starters I'm thinking of changing it to Waldo Parish, or better yet, St. Waldo Parish. Once I do that, I figure local businesses will be more willing to bribe me to link to them. Soon, we could start referring to ourselves as "da parish" and people would flee the cities of Bangor and Augusta to live here, the tax base would improve, we'd get sharpshooters to pick off the snowmobilers and jet skiers (just a one-day season is all I'm asking). When the boom got going, we could all sell out at a handsome profit and move to somewhere like the Allagash.
