One of the smartest things we did was to open on Mardi Gras of last year. This way we get to have an anniversary party every year on Mardi Gras. Craig got the baby in the King Cake and told his mama to start cooking cause they had to give the next party. My sister Colleen and 7 of her friends escaped to Maine over the holiday. The town is still talking about them. In a moment of Diversity in Unity Helaine and Betty from N.O. chat with Phil, better known as "the big indian."
Jody and Bill are wearing their beads and eating jambalaya (Sue, you can come back and cook anytime). Jody told us later that if "all those women ever came back to town, he wanted to know about it right away." Another friend, Victor, toured them around the college. Lisa from Philadelphia chats it up with a friend of Melissa's mom.
The snow we didn't have while they were here arrived yesterday, about 15 inches of it. It's still snowing and blowing. Almost a blizzard really, with more expected mid-week.

About a week ago at 10:40 pm, we had an earthquake. Shake it up baby. 3.8 on the Richter scale centered about 30 miles from here. Everyone within 50 miles of the center did exactly the same thing: checked to see if their furnace had blown up, then checked to see if a truck had run into their house, then called a neighbor and said, "What in the hell was that?"
