The all veggies all the time slideshow from our Farmers Market yesterday. Purple cauliflower?
Yesterday was Barn Raisers annual meeting and community meal, a giant undertaking. Melissa, Deb and Pat made $300 for trails at the yard sale. Vicky and Larry found good stuff. Vicky is frowning because she thought Larry might actually buy the yodeling album.
With civic obligations done for the moment, I'm declaring it festival season. Any festival, some of which I invent as needed. If I see all three films showing at Railroad Square in a week, I declare that a mini film festival. The real Maine Film Festival starts July 10. We'll see some of that before heading off to the Green River Festival, and at the end of July we head down to the 50th Newport Folk Festival.
Because we're in a long string of rainy days, I'll probably make my movie mini-fest goal this week. Saturday I saw The Brothers Bloom, a delicious romp of a caper movie that plays on the theme of an unwritten versus a scripted life. Poetic dialogue against a background of card tricks and exploding things. Liked it a lot.
