The first signs of spring are busting out of the ground, including a spring that gushed up on the camp road creating a near washout. Our cars are parked at a neighbor's up the hill above the washout. Nothing can be done until mud season eases up.

During the last election, the baseball statistician turned electoral politics analyst Nate Silver, became everyone's favorite nerd. His predictive models were usually right, so his model for when individual states will support gay marriage using just three variables bears interest. Maine is in the group likely to happen this year(2009); at the bottom of the list are Alabama(2023) and Mississippi(2024). Sorry about that, Georgette.
