Last Sunday was icing day on the lake. I took this shot at sunset. We may get another icing day because we've had a big rain storm that washed everything away, knocked out power for 24 hours, and gave us a couple of inches of water in the basement. That was so avoidable; I should have put the generator on and plugged the sump pump into it before going to sleep. Dexter woke us up around 3 am, something about how am I supposed to use a floating cat box. I took the occasion to rip out the stinky carpet in the basement office/workout room.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving meal at "the farm," which is Peter's house and used to be Shirley's house (they swapped). We did the traditional walk down to the river between dinner and dessert.
Melissa has been doing animal care for Jennifer and Brett who are away over the Thanksgiving weekend; they have goats, chickens and a donkey named Rudy. I went with her this morning and found some rust, some frost, and a lot of the end of November.
