An amazing, history-making week leaves little time for documentation especially if the documentor is a news junkie. The democratic convention was perfect, and the visuals of that huge crowd watching Obama's acceptance speech were awesome. Throw in a character straight from Northern Exposure as McCain's VP choice and a hurricane disrupting the Republican convention and you have me wondering who is writing this script. I can't decide if I want Palin to be forced off the ticket by public protest or if I want her to stick around so we can continue to make fun of her and the Old Guy.

Melissa grew these gourds in Triplet Park, and these tomatoes in our garden at home. She is canning and putting food by like crazy. For my part, I've been putting music by. These tasty tunes will be nourishing later. Another show, another young band (Miss Tess and the Bon Ton Parade) posing with the moose. On Monday night, some amazing fiddling & guitar work from The Waybacks.

Checking on my peeps down in Louisiana following hurricane Gustav. The smart people in New Orleans evacuated to the East (to the right as they say) while Lafayette and Baton Rouge (to the left) got smacked pretty good.
