For her birthday, Melissa got a rare sunny day and we made the most of it. We biked in Acadia and had lunch at Jordan Pond House, zipped over to Southwest Harbor and went for a sail with Marge and Miff, finished it off with hot dogs and ice cream in Searsport. The award for the best osprey nest goes to these guy in Southwest. It has it all: location, walls, monogramming (oSprey).

On the August Mix, the Ry Cooder tune packs a lot of stuff (midget kangeroos, hot dog eating contests, death in a Mickey Mouse suit) into a beguiling latin rhythm, while that Horse Flies song is, I think, about reinventing yourself; plus new, yet classic, Randy Newman.

I'm happy to report that Wing and Scout have mastered the in and out doors on the screen porch. They come and go at will are are very pleased with themselves. We just have to keep the basement door closed or they will clean out the cat food.
